Christmas Card Swap Blog Hop

The best way to brighten a person's day is to send them a card
and the holidays give everyone the perfect excuse to do that.
When you add talent to the mix, you have the perfect
hand made holiday card to brighten any day.

That is what this hop is about.
We have gathered some of the most talented card makers
around to bring holiday joy to each other while showing
off their talents. Some of the crafters know each other
while others have met for this first time in the
Christmas Card Swap group.

Today some of the these wonderful ladies will showing
the cards they made. We hope you will join us to
see how talented these crafters are and to get
inspiration and ideas for your own holiday cards.

Please begin your hopping at
Lorby's World (http://lorbysworld.blogspot.com)
for she has a drawing with some special holiday
bling and string to give one lucky winner.
All the details on how to get qualified are on her blog.

Now on with the cards and holiday cheer...

I made the following cards for this swap
(and another swap)....  the svg file to create
this card came from Samantha Walker Designs

Here is a close up....

After piecing the svg files together, I embossed Santa's
beard using a swirly Cuttlebug embossing folder.
Then added white flock to his hat and green and red
stickles to the holly.
This was a super easy card to create
and I think they turned out fantastic!  I will be mailing them
out to the talented crafters in my group, first thing tomorrow.

For the inside of the card, I heat embossed the sentiment.

Thank you for hopping today and
please continue on to Sandra's blog HERE!

In case you get lost along the way,
here is the complete line up for the hop.

Happy Holidays!!

~ Shelly Lynn ~

A sad day!

For those who were following my Christmas Crafts & Cards...
I apologize for not posting the last week... I had a holiday
party for co-workers at my home (so that took up a lot of
my time and shortly after became sick.)  I'm feeling much
better today, health wise but am very saddened to hear
the tragic news of the shooting in CT.  My thoughts and
prayers go out to all those who are affected by this
horrible tragedy!!  Who  could do something so horrific
to such beautiful little children.  My heart
goes out to everyone in the community!

Cathy Derouche is putting together a package
with lots of cards from lots of talented card
makers and would love to send cards to the children
of the school to let them know there are a lot of people
out there thinking of them, as well as the teachers and
parents. We should all work together to spread the love.
If you are interested in participating in this, please let me
know and I can have Cathy get in contact with you
through facebook.

Day 4 of Christmas Crafts & Cards

Wow... it's hard to believe we are already 4 days
into December... this month is going to fly by.

For today's project, I created a NOEL banner.

I used a lot of glitter paper (from Michael's),
some stickles, music sheet patterned paper, cardboard,
ribbon, chipboard letters, prima flowers, and mini brads.

I just love how it turned out! What do you think?

Here is a close up pic...

Day 3 of Christmas Crafts & Cards

For today's Christmas project, I created a non-traditional
Christmas card for my Dad.  I have the hardest time coming
up with masculine cards. When I came across this Tim Holtz
paper, I knew I had to get it to create a card for my Dad.

Front of Card...
 Inside of Card...
 Thanks for stopping by today!
Be sure to stop in tomorrow for Day 4
of my Christmas Crafts & Cards.

Day 2 of Christmas Crafts & Cards

I recently participated in an Itty Bitty Mini Album
swap over at MiniAlbumScraps.ning  This is a
super awesome and talented group of ladies.
Corissa always does a fabulous job with hosting
the mini album swaps.  I don't know how she does it!
There were over 40 albums created in the swap this month.
She creates a video to show off all the minis... however, this
month there will be more than one video due to the many
participants this time around.  I'll be sure to post the link to
Corissa's video here, so you can see all the lovely mini albums.
Here is the link to the Fall/Halloween minis...
You can see mine there too! :)

Okay... on with my Christmas themed Itty Bitty Mini Albums
I created three minis that can also function as  Christmas
ornaments. I found these cute little mini gift boxes at
Old Time Pottery.  I added lots of red bling around the
front of each box and attached small red velvet bows
with some turquoise colored prima flowers.

Inside each decorated box,
I added my itty bitty mini albums.

They are pretty simple inside... so a itty bitty photo can
be added to each page.  The cover page is decorated
with an elf, Jolee stickers, stickles, and candy cane bling.
They each fold up (accordian style) into the mini gift boxes.

And the back of each box, I heat
embossed using my newest stamp.

I hope you enjoyed my Christmas Itty Bitty Minis!
Thanks for stopping by and don't forget...
each day in December, I will be posting
either a Christmas
craft or card... hope you stop
by and check them out.

Christmas Home Decor Hop & Day 1 of Christmas Crafts & Cards

Welcome
to the
"Christmas Home Decor Hop"

You should have came from Pat's blog at
http://patacakespages.blogspot.com
if not please start at the beginning over at
Shannon's blog

http://shannonleffew.blogspot.com/
Thank you for joining us in the hop today.
For this hop, I made several Christmas decorations.

My first project is a pinterest inspired project...
I bought cheap plastic snowflake ornaments
(that are covered in white glitter) from Wal-Mart.
Then from the dollar section at Michael's,
I bought a package of 6 flowers that have glitter on
them, too.  I hot glued the flowers to the snowflakes.

My next project was inspired from the catalog CollectionsETC

Here is a pic of the catalog item (photo from catalog).
The item had poor reviews... so I decided to make my own.
I actually like my own better than the store bought premade ones.

Below are the chair decorations that I made....
using red velvet bows, pinecones, and swag
all purchased (cheap) on black friday at Michael's.

I made several more Christmas decorations...
I will post a project each day until Christmas...
so be sure to stop back by!  You can sign up on
the left to receive email updates from our blog.

Here is one more project...
I didn't make this one though.
My Mom bought it for me a few years ago
at a Craft Sale.  But it would be simple to create...
using old metal coffee cans.

Thanks again for stopping by!
Have a great weekend!!
It’s supposed to be beautiful weather here in
Kansas City all weekend!  We are planning
on putting up the outdoor Christmas lights.
Here is a list of the complete line up
in case you get lost along the way...

Stitching Card Blog Hop - Nov. 28, 2012

Welcome
to the
"Stitching Card Blog Hop"

You should have came from Liz's blog at
http://scrapiliciouslife.blogspot.com/

if not please start at the beginning over at
Ashley's blog

http://thebloghopprincess.blogspot.com

Thank you for joining us in the hop today.

For this hop, I created three cards, using both faux
stitching and "real" stitching by hand.  I have a mini Pixie
sewing machine... have actually had it for about three years
but find it intimidating for me. I should have challenged
myself to use it for this hop, but time got away from me...
especially so close to the holidays.  I also have the "Sew Easy".
I used it several times when I first got it, but it's been
awhile since I have used it because of it being so time consuming.

Okay... now onto my cards...
This first card, I stitched by hand using a
Bazzill in Stitch'z Template and  black embroidery thread.
Both sides of the card has stitching.

For the other two cards, I created faux stitching
using a white pen.  I prefer using a uniball signo
white pen...others I have tried just aren't as good.

Thanks again for stopping by!!
Don't forget...

Ashley is giving away a $20 gift card to either
Joanns or Michaels (winners choice) for this hop...
the only requirement to be entered for the giveaway is
that you must comment on all the blogs in the hop. Good luck!
Here is a list of the complete line up...

celebrate an early Thanksgiving.

Christmas Banners for Special Needs Kids BLOG HOP

"In the eyes of children, we find the joy of Christmas. In their hearts, we find its meaning."

As joyous as Christmas is for most families, for some, their holidays are filled with worry, medical treatments and tests, and pain -- for their child must be hospitalized or she or he needs long-term care rather than being home with their families.

For these kids, Santa doesn't slip down a chimney but rather, often comes in the guise of community volunteers who help make the season bright.

This is the second Christmas season that our own band of dedicated and loving paper crafters have come together to make Holiday banners for children who are too sick to be home for the holidays.  Welcome to the Christmas Banners for Special Needs Kids blog hop!

I am especially pleased that this year, not only have our numbers of generous crafters swelled so our Hop is over three full days, but also, that we have partnered with another great cause and recipient of our banners!

By teaming up with Madison Womack's I FEEL THE LOVE PROJECT, the banners our crafters have handmade will be going to the hospitalized children at Children's Hospital Central California!

********************************************************************************

First, let me show you the banner I made for today's post. I'll be sending this to Madison and the children at CHCC who are benefiting from the I Feel the Love project in December:
(Sorry about the rails in the background... I hang my banner on the railing to take the pics.)

I used svg files from Treasure Box Designs to create this fun Christmas banner. I added stickles for a touch of bling.

Here are close ups of each one...

Your next stop on the hop, be sure to check out Lisa's banner over at http://lisascreativeniche.blogspot.com/

Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment!! :)

Happy Birthday Kitty Cropper!

Happy Birthday to You!!!!

I would like to wish my dear friend and blog mate here
at KC Croppers, Kristie (AKA Kitty Cropper),
a Happy belated Birthday!!

We celebrated her bday by attending her sons last football
game of the season and going back to her place for some
delicious homemade potato soup and chili.  And Saturday,
we are going to a nearby antique store with Kristie, so she
can pick out her bday gift. Hope you had  a great day Kristie...
thanks for inviting us over on Tues. for the delicious food!

Below is a photo of the card that I created for
Kristie's big day!  I apologize for the poor quality
pic... I used the camera on my phone and didn't
realize the pics would look so grainy... lesson learned.

(Inside of card)

Here is the banner I created for Kristie's son...
for his "last game of the season" party.
It's hard to tell in the pic, but I embossed each football
to give it texture and strung the footballs with a shoe lace.

Halloween Party Decor Hop

Welcome
to the
"Halloween Party Decor Hop"

You should have came from Amber's blog at
http://pixiperfectcreations.blogspot.com/
if not please start at the beginning over at
Shannon's blog

http://shannonleffew.blogspot.com/

Here are the halloween decorations that I have made
so far... there will be more to come in the following weeks.
I usually don't complete all my halloween decor until
the last week before Halloween.

The Jack-o-lantern face was just hand cut from black vinyl
and stuck to the pitcher.  I didn't have Orange Juice on hand
to take the pic.... so I used food coloring and water.
Going out to buy my OJ today! :)

This is a banner I made a few weeks ago...
those of you with toddlers in the home may recognize
the Bubble Guppies at Nickelodeon show for kids.

Here is a close up pic....

Here are a couple of my projects from last year...
that I thought I would share again.  I haven't had
much time to get more decor done for this year yet.
Hoping I will get the time to sit in my scraproom
and work on Halloween goodies next week!

Next...
