Yellow and Orange Challenge from The Studio

This is my submission to the Studio's yellow and orange color challenge. I used DCWV paper and Target dollar spot chipboard alpha.

I Think It's Love

I have been living vicariously, looking at all of the cool things coming out of CHA on a bunch of different websites, and I finally got a look at Cosmo Cricket's new lines.

Oh, joy!

I always like Cosmo. As usual, they have a bunch of whimsical/retro cuteness I really like- Pixie-licious is sweet, Matilda, the Halloween line has smiling candy that is right up my alley, Mitten Weather, the Christmas line's colors are so fun... But have you seen Togetherness?

When I saw the border that quotes the line from the song on the old "Parent Trap" movie, my eyes misted up. I kid you not.

Someone at Cosmo Cricket knows me. I'm not alone in this universe!

Thanks, Cosmo Cricket ;-)

Know Scrap Review- Zig Glue Pen

Well, I may not have made it to CHA this year, but I have been busy with my own exciting project- my new craft room! I'll upload pics soon.

Talk about exciting- how about those adhesives?! Woo! Mind blowing stuff.

Maybe not "mind blowing", exactly, but near and dear to my heart, as you may know from my previous adhesives post.

Today, I will be looking at the Zig Memory System 2-Way Glue Pen. I have used both the fine and medium point versions. I was excited to find this glue pen- spot application of adhesive has always been a challenge. I felt both the fine and medium tip versions did a god job of spot application, with the blue-to-clear color change as the glue dries helpful. I like the little squeeze bulb on the fine version, as it allows for more precise control over the glue flow. In all, both versions of the pen were easy and convenient to use.

Now, here's the bad part: The glue doesn't always hold. That's a BIG problem when you're trying to adhere multiple little bits, and they constantly pop off. When Shell and I made the baby shower invitations recently, we used these glue pens, and found it frustrating when little paws, eyes, noses, etc. would come flaking off after the glue dried.

My verdict- if you must have spot application of wet adhesive, these pens are the best choice. For anything that doesn't strictly need that type of adhesive- USE SOMETHING ELSE! These glue pens will never replace good dry adhesive, as their staying power is just too limited.

Zig 2-Way Glue Pen- $3-5, available at most major craft retailers and some discount department stores.

The BABY letters (3d Glitter stickers) are from Target... 99 cents!!
That yellow flower in bottom left corner
is NOT that dark... looks bad in the pic.

I wanted to pass this info along...

CREATIVE WAY TO JOURNAL

Do you ever want to journal on your layout, but feel it is too personal
and you don't want to share it with everyone? Or maybe you just don't
like the look of your own handwriting? Whatever the case may be,
if you don't want everyone to see or read your journaling, then
Check out this awesome journaling idea from Juliana at Bo Bunny...
click here. You will also be entered in a drawing for some Petal
Pusher goodies if you stop by the Bo Bunny Blog and leave a

FREEBIES

PACIFIER

TreasureBoxDesigns newest freebie is a Pacifier) While you are there,
check out their paper piecing collections... they have some really
cute ones!! I purchased an entire cd of collections from them
awhile back and can kick myself for losing the darn thing...
I hope to come across it someday soon!

HUMMINGBIRD

Today’s freebie from SVG Cuts is a pretty multi-layered
hummingbird, the perfect accent in a backyard floral design or
tropical flower theme! SVG Cuts has a ton of free svg's and others
at reasonable prices... I use them with the Sure Cuts A Lot program.
I particularly like it because I can download svg's from the internet
of almost anything instead of purchasing a cricut cartridge that
has only a few cuts that I really like on it. But don't get me wrong...
I LOVE the CRICUT CARTRIDGES, too!! They are quicker and
easier to use, but so darn expensive!

ATG GUN, ADHESIVE REFILLS, & BLING BLING

For those of you with ATG guns (adhesive applicator).... check out
FramingSupplies.com for refills. They have always shipped
my refills very quickly. They also sell ATG guns... if you don't
already own one...I highly recommend them. I couldn't scrap
without mine now. Custom Crops
is currently selling a
pink ATG adhesive applicator for a very reasonable price.
Check out Cheryl's blinged up ATG here!! I love it Cheryl!!
If anyone else has done this with any of their scrap tools,
please let us know... I would love to see it!

Fourth of July

I hope you all had a Fantastic Fourth of July!
I wanted to share the lil' rose bouquet that
I made up for my husband's step-Mom.
I absolutely LOVED how it turned out.
For the vase, I used a small glass milk jar
from a local dairy farm. Tied some red & blue
ribbon around it and for the finishing touch...
added a bit of bling... red glittery star foam sticker.

Below are some lil' Thank You cards I made up for
a couple of people that came to our BBQ cookout
and brought some delicious food to share.
I still need to make a special one for Kitty...
she and her hubby joined us for our Fourth of July
celebration... her bean dip ROCKED!! : )

(Can you see the glitter along the edges?)
