Awesome New Cosmo

I get giddy every time Cosmo launches new lines, and this time is no exception. All of the lines are dripping with Cosmo's signature retro style, and I just love them. Salt Air, in particular, is right up my alley with those deco-y "South Beach" tropical pastels. I love that Cosmo's papers are lovely to look at on their own, but that they also make really excellent "bases" for projects. They steal the show, but quietly.

Michael's Finds

One of the local Michael's stores is going out of business (thankfully, not the one closest to my house), and everything is 70% off. The store is pretty well picked over, but I managed to find some good paper and ribbon deals in particular. If you live in the Northland, stop by the Barry Road Michael's (right by 169 Highway and Metro North Mall). This is my little haul- 19 spools of ribbon, some packets of bling, a sticker, a stamp, and lots of assorted paper- all for less than ten dollars! I AM slightly miffed at Michael's, though. They advertised Cricut cartridges clearancing out at $9.99 starting today, but I got to my local Michael's right as the store opened, and they were all ready sold out. They shouldn't advertise them in the circular starting on a certain day if they are all ready out of stock.

Pink Stamper Color Challenge

Well, Kitty submitted hers (below) so I thought
I better get one done before this challenge ends.

Robyn over at My Pink Stamper

is looking for new design team members...
not sure if I am at the level that she is looking for yet
but I always enjoy doing the color challenges.... so here goes.
(Check out the Color Challenge HERE!)

The challenge is to create something (card, layout, or whatever)
using the colors Pink, Green, Brown, and another color of your choice.

I chose to create a card and as my "other"
color, I chose a Cream color for the girls skin.

I created the girl by using the
Once Upon A Princess cricut cartridge.
Her face was hand drawn.

The brighter pink card stock was from American Crafts
and the other was just some misc. cardstock I had lying
around. The striped paper was a gift from a friend so
not sure about the company it came from.
I also added ribbon, Oooh - La- La! stamp,
and brown brads for finishing touches.

Thanks for looking!!

My Pink Stamper Design Team Challenge

This is my entry for My Pink Stamper's Design Team Challenge. She asked that the project use green, pink, brown, and an optional fourth color, along with a favorite Cricut cartridge. I don't think I'll be in the running for the DT, but the color combo was right up my alley, so I took the plunge. This page uses the Winter Woodland cartridge- my favorite for this time of year! I love the funky, retro looking trees. I cut my trees at 5'', 4 3/4 ", and 3", and staggered them by height. I used a strip on the bottom from We R Memory Keepers "Merry and Bright" collection. I combined this with pieces of green argyle and green and pink striped paper from DCWV's Summer Dream stack. I layered all of this on some sweet pastel pink cardstock in two shades, and made my mat out of chocolatey brown cardstock. I lightly inked all of my edges in colors that matched the papers, then I sprinkled the trees and corners liberally with sequins (my current favorite embellishment), and voila! A layout is born.

Card Frenzy!

Shell's card using From My Kitchen cartridge. Aren't cherries just too cute?

The birthday card I made my 12-year old son. It is kind of an inside joke. I used Summer Dream paper from DCWV, a Jolee's party hat embellishment, and Cricut Classic font for the phrase.
A Christmas card I made using Simply Charmed and Shell's perfect bow (sorry Shell!)

The Christmas card I made for Shell. I used From My Kitchen, and ironically enough, Summer Dream paper.
My Sleepy Tree card.

The Sleepy Tree pad. K and Co, I want more Sleepy Tree designs! They are SO Rankin-Bass!
